I The Script, pop band irlandese, a due anni dal precedente tour, sono pronti a tornare nel nostro paese nel 2024. Il gruppo composto da Danny O’Donoghue, Mark Sheehan (deceduto ad aprile 2023) e Glen Power presenterà così il nuovo album Satellites in uscita ad agosto 2024. La morte di Mark Sheehan
Il 15 aprile 2023 la band dà notizia della morte del chitarrista Mark Sheehan “dopo breve malattia” all’età di soli 46 anni.

Bio e Storia dei The Script
I The Script sono un gruppo pop rock irlandese formatosi a Dublino nel 2001. La band è storicamente composta da:
Danny O’Donoghue: voce, pianoforte, tastiere, basso, sintetizzatore
Glen Power: batteria
Mark Sheehan: chitarra (deceduto il 14 aprile 2023)
I due membri fondatori, Danny O’Donoghue e Mark Sheehan, si sono conosciuti a Dublino e hanno iniziato a scrivere canzoni insieme. Nel 2004 hanno formato una band chiamata Myles, con Sheehan alla chitarra e O’Donoghue alla voce e al pianoforte. La band ha pubblicato un singolo, “All the Way”, nel 2005, ma non ha avuto successo.
Nel 2006, O’Donoghue e Sheehan si sono trasferiti a Londra per cercare di sfondare nel mondo della musica. Hanno cambiato il nome della band in The Script e hanno iniziato a suonare in locali e pub. Nel 2008, i The Script hanno firmato un contratto discografico con la Phonogram Records e hanno pubblicato il loro album di debutto omonimo. L’album ha avuto un grande successo in Irlanda e nel Regno Unito, raggiungendo la prima posizione in classifica in entrambi i paesi. Il singolo di maggior successo dell’album, “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved”, è rimasto in cima alla classifica britannica per tre settimane.
Nel 2024 uscirà il loro settimo album in studio “Satellites”.
