Bio e Storia di Steve Hackett
Stephen Richard Hackett, noto come Steve, è un chitarrista, cantante e compositore britannico di rock progressivo. È nato a Pimlico, Londra, il 12 febbraio 1950.
Hackett ha formato la sua prima band, The Shed, all’età di 15 anni e ha iniziato a suonare nei club di Londra. Nel 1970, la svolta quando è entrato a far parte dei Genesis, l’iconica band di rock progressivo che stava per sfondare. Con Hackett al fianco, i Genesis hanno pubblicato alcuni dei loro album più famosi, tra cui Foxtrot (1972), Selling England by the Pound (1973) e The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway (1974).
Sebbene i suo primo album solista. il celebratissimo Voyage of the Acolyte, sia del 75, Hackett ha lasciato i Genesis solo nel 1977 e il live Seconds Out è stato l’ultimo che lo ha visto in lineup. Negli anni successivi Hackett si è diviso tra la sua carriera solista e i tour di revival dei Genesis classici: il 2024 sarà tempo per The Lamb e anche per il nuovo album The Circus and the Nightwhale.
