Bio e Storia di Rod Stewart
Sir Roderick David Stewart, conosciuto da tutti come Rod Stewart, è un cantautore britannico nato a Londra il 10 gennaio 1945. Considerato uno dei più grandi artisti rock di tutti i tempi, ha venduto oltre 120 milioni di dischi in tutto il mondo, conquistando il pubblico con la sua voce graffiante e il suo stile inconfondibile.
Nato da una famiglia di origine scozzese, Rod Stewart cresce a Londra dove, fin da giovane, si appassiona alla musica. Inizia a suonare l’armonica a bocca e il banjo, per poi dedicarsi al blues e al rock & roll. All’inizio degli anni ’60, Stewart muove i primi passi nel mondo della musica suonando in diverse band, tra cui gli “Steam Locomotives” e gli “Shotgunners”. Nel 1966 si unisce ai Faces, con i quali ottiene un grande successo, pubblicando album come A Nod Is as Good as a Wink to a Blind Horse (1971) e Ooh La La (1973).
Nel 1974, Stewart intraprende la carriera da solista con l’album An Old Raincoat Won’t Ever Let You Down, che contiene la hit “Maggie May”. Il successo non tarda ad arrivare e, nel corso degli anni, pubblica una serie di album di grande successo, tra cui la celeberrima “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?”, vero inno pop di una generazione. Nel 2024 ha annunciato il tour d’addio.
