È morto Tim Hauser, storico fondatore dei Manhattan Transfer. Nato nel dicembre del 1941, il cantante, produttore discografico e arrangiatore statunitense è deceduto all’età di quasi 73 anni in seguito a cause ancora da accertare. A darne l’annuncio sono stati gli altri membri del gruppo, Janis, Cheryl e Ala,n attraverso la pagina facebook ufficiale della band.
I Manhattan Transfer vennero fondati nel 1969 da Tim Hauser insieme alla cantante Laurel Massé. Il nome è stato ispirato dall’omonimo romanzo dedicato alla New York degli anni venti, durante la cosiddetta era del jazz.
Questo il messaggio che si legge sulla pagina facebook del gruppo che annuncia anche che per onorare la memoria di Hauser e gli impegni presi in precedenza, terranno i concerti già in calendario esibendosi in trio.
