Fin dagli esordi, la formula vincente dei Maroon 5 per il successo è stato uno tipo di pop particolarmente orecchiabile e canticchiabile, perfetto per rimanere in classifica e in radio a lungo termine: è stato il caso di This Love, di Payphone, di Moves Like Jagger e sarà molto probabilmente anche il caso del loro ultimo singolo Maps.
Il brano, in perfetta linea con lo stile già adottato dalla band americana capitanata dal (vanesio) leader Adam Levine, è particolarmente originale e piacevole già da un primo ascolto e ha tutte le carte in regole per diventare uno dei tormentoni di questa estate.
