Bio e Storia di Loreena McKennitt
Nata il 17 febbraio 1957 a Morden, Manitoba, Canada, Loreena McKennitt è una cantautrice, musicista polistrumentista e compositrice riconosciuta come un’icona della musica celtica contemporanea. La sua voce eterea e le sue melodie evocative, spesso accompagnate da arpa, pianoforte, fisarmonica e altri strumenti tradizionali, hanno conquistato un pubblico internazionale vasto e devoto.
Negli anni ’80, Loreena iniziò a esibirsi nei festival folk canadesi, conquistando il pubblico con la sua interpretazione personale di brani tradizionali celtici e composizioni originali. Il suo primo album, “Elemental Power” (1985), ricevette il plauso della critica, aprendole le porte del successo internazionale.
Negli anni Novanta, Loreena raggiunse la notorietà assoluta con album come “The Visit” (1991) e “The Mask and Mirror” (1994). Questi lavori, caratterizzati da atmosfere mistiche e melodie romantiche, conquistarono anche un pubblico mainstream,
