I Gov’t Mule sono una band di rock statunitense con influenze blues e southern rock. Ecco una loro breve biografia:

La band è stata fondata nel 1994 da Warren Haynes e Allen Woody, che erano entrambi membri dei The Allman Brothers Band. Il nome “Gov’t Mule” è un riferimento a una canzone dei Pink Floyd chiamata “Mule” e alla sua versione “Government Mule.”
La musica di Gov’t Mule è un mix di rock, blues e southern rock con influenze psichedeliche e jam. La band è conosciuta per le lunghe esibizioni dal vivo e le improvvisazioni musicali che spesso caratterizzano i loro spettacoli. Warren Haynes è noto per la sua abilità come chitarrista e cantante, ed è considerato uno dei grandi chitarristi rock contemporanei.
Purtroppo, il co-fondatore Allen Woody è deceduto nel 2000, ma i Gov’t Mule hanno continuato a esistere con Warren Haynes come leader. La band ha registrato numerosi album di successo, tra cui “Dose” (1998), “Life Before Insanity” (2000), “Deja Voodoo” (2004) e molti altri. L’ultimo lavoro, uscito nel 2023, è Peace…Like A River.
