Diana Krall è una cantante e pianista jazz canadese. È nata a Nanaimo, nella British Columbia, il 16 novembre 1964. Diana è cresciuta in una famiglia di musicisti. Suo padre suonava il pianoforte in casa, e sua madre cantava in un coro. A quattro anni, iniziò a prendere lezioni di pianoforte. Ogni domenica la famiglia al completo si riuniva per interpretare classici di Nat King Cole o Frank Sinatra.
Carriera musicale
La carriera musicale di Diana Krall iniziò nel 1993 quando pubblicò il suo primo album, Stepping Out, registrato con John Clayton e Jeff Hamilton. Questo album attirò l’attenzione del produttore Tommy LiPuma, con il quale Krall pubblicò nel 1995 Only Trust Your Heart, che le valse il suo primo Grammy Award al miglior album jazz vocale.
